Jorge Siesquén Deza, Designer & Webflow Developer

MY journey

I have been working in international and diverse design areas with and for interesting start-ups 🦄 and large companies (and of course with awesome people ✨) delivering end-to-end products for +4.5 years that have led me to where I am today. My inspiration for becoming a designer was simple - to solve problems and help people.

I graduated with a BSc in Business Administration, which allows me to not only understand user needs but also the business ones in a strategic way. Moreover, before getting into Product Design and Low-code Web Development, I have worked in Service Design (SXD) and User Research (UXR). This experience provided me with the right tools for understanding user needs and gave me a big panorama about how important design is.

Aside from corporate work, I delight in utilizing design as a social innovation tool to create better human experiences through inclusive design. In 2020, I had a first-hand opportunity to run a side project named Pukhi, a social and environmental innovation project born in response to the COVID-19 situation in order to help Peruvian-low income families by giving them a sustainable artisanal refrigerator which works without electricity. For the project and its impact as a Social Leader, I have been awarded as an MIT Innovator Under 35 (MIT IU 35) by MIT Technology Review.

Working at the intersection of Design, Business, Low-code Development, and Social Innovation. I understood and experienced that design is a catalyst for growth; that design brings ideas to life, and that design can have a huge positive impact and transform lives.

It has been an enjoyable journey where learning never ends and where I keep discovering new things and I am very grateful for it.

when i am not "designing"...

The rest of this website is about Jorge /Coco/ the professional, Design, Webflow, etc. But I figure it is important you get to know a bit about me personally too. In my spare time, I can often be found undertaking advocacy volunteer work, sharpening my photography skills, exploring somewhere new or making delicious recipes.

⚡ I am Pukhi’s founder (@pukhiperu on ig), an award-winning social and environmental innovation project that aims to break down the walls of fresh food inequality access through a simple Low-tech way that preserves food without electricity. We democratize access to food preservation for low-income Peruvian families (47.5% of households in Peru). Pukhi represents a low-cost, high-impact solution in the lives of many people.

⚡ I am part of the Lima OpenIDEO Chapter, an organization that allows people from all over the world to come together and create solutions to today's toughest social problems. As a Chapter Organizer I drive the community through organizing events where people connect creative problem solvers and design local solutions for global endeavors.
